Why Yad used instead of fingers to read the Torah?
Can anyone help please?
There are two reasons : 1) The Torah is considered sacred and should not be touched without cause 2) If the card is damaged or not, the Torah is considered Pasul (forbidden) and can be used until repaired to prevent damage to the contact touches it not, to preserve the text.
