We often hear the argument lazy "religion" is responsible for the wars of man, which means that if we get rid of religion, everything would be peace and harmony. Presumably, then, if all men have abandoned the idea that they are the spirits that inhabit a material body and see themselves as mere animals by chance from mud of our problems would be over and we'd all be much happier. It is patently false and does not correspond to an observation of history or reality.
It also shows a degree of cloudiness in what is meant by the word "religion" Religions vary widely. No pantheism (belief in many gods) monotheism (belief in one God who created all) and religions who worship no god at all, such as Buddhism or Scientology modern.
At the end of the spectrum there are religions that do not even conceive that man is an immortal soul, but life is still considered to be spiritual in its essence.
Some religions, as the stress of the Christian faith, while faith has no place at all in other cases, Scientology and Buddhism are being developed.
A note too, so talk about faith-based paradigms that materialism is unable to produce conclusive proof of its basic assumption. This spirituality is a matter of no belief, not evidence. Of course, we can prove that the universe is material and we can develop and test their laws, but this is not proof that the material universe is all there. The claim that the material universe is all that is not scientific or logical, is actually a statement of faith.
Okay, so this variable is not defined waves known "religion" or "faith" is responsible for the wars of man. Is it true?
Well, I can not think of some recent conflicts, humanitarian disasters, or whose driving force was anything but religious.
Hitler's slaughter of ethnic minorities, for example, religion has often been a victim of the Nazi psychosis, but they were not responsible. In fact, we now know that the drive behind the Nazi massacres of psychiatry German arch-defender of the hypothesis that man is made of clay.
The training of the Russian Revolution and the Stalinist slaughter has followed has been anything but religious, again derived from the materialism of communism and psychiatry.

Not every war is "caused" by "religion." Religious groups are however often the victim or target of the latter, but not exclusively, and not always. There is no evidence that "getting rid of religion" in the "available of war ", nor is it clear that atheism, or prohibiting the abandonment of trade would be peace on Earth.
There is no evidence that the abandonment of spirituality that society happier. By contrast, Western society has become more and more unhappy demoralized because it has become materialistic. It is likely find that the spread of the epidemic of drug abuse and crime on the one hand and the fall of man's spirituality, and even their sense of the curves remain well and evil in proportion. In the midst of material abundance, which in theory should have been happy, now live in a most miserable lost souls Gomorrah.
Of course, the "religion" is a factor in the war in the Middle East and the justifications for their actions by terrorist groups. And religion was a factor in many human conflicts. It is true that the religious societies may not have been happier either.
In fact, a glance the human rights story that says that if the spiritual man in Outlook or Outlook materialistic tend to have a difficult time. From this we conclude that humanity is still changing their social forms and we do not have all the answers. This is not a reason to ignore the whole thing and stop the effort of the reason for the widespread slogans, impractical.
