what is the difference between a pentacle and a pentagram?
is this right? a pentagram is an upside down star w/ a ring around it; a pentacle is an upright star w/ a ring around it.
A pentagram is simply the five-pointed star; a pentacle is the five-pointed star with a circle surrounding it. The two are sometimes used interchangeably, but that is the difference. Also, the common perception is that the “pentagram” is the upside down star and “pentacle” is the upright one. Technically, no matter which way the star faces, it is a pentagram – the upside down one is actually an inverted pentagram.
