conversion to Reform Judaism, any advice? (Please do not Xtian, Jews for Jesus, Reconstructionist answers)?
Good morning. My question is for the Reform and Conservative Jews Orthodox Jews and Jews who accept and love each other and only retains the reforms. I am a Jew by choice and will soon become my whole family (husband, daughter 1 year old). We do everything the same day. Does anyone have suggestions for me on how to cope to the events? Bet Din? So I have to go in the Micveh. I agree with the soaking water, but I'm worried about my 1-year pass underneath. I was told I get up in front of the synagogue and say something about my conversion, but I do not know what to say or what is appropriate cover. In addition, our rabbi is wonderful and is purchased Rebbe a gift – a set of Encyclopedia Judaica to acquire our intensive training and under study for more than 14 months (it was a long transition, but very educational). Is this an appropriate gift? Thank you for your contribution.
Mazel Tov! Welcome to the tribe. How exciting to turn to family and raise her daughter as a Jew! I'm too jealous. I felt very comfortable with the bet din to … Asked why change? I do not know why! I muddled my way and if passes the test. One thing we've done is learn to write my name in Hebrew, Hebrew before signing documents. We had to wait months before the mikvah was ready and we waited by rain (in the desert!) to complete. I loved the layout and plans to do so often, but it was not. : (About the immersion of his daughter. When I learned our children to swim, I take in my arms and blowing in their faces. This makes them breathless, so quickly tempered when they held their breath. It is possible wishing to practice in a pool before the big day. We've turned a group of ten and were not obliged to say anything other than the Shema. I asked the rabbi what is the Shema and said only the first two verses, but it would be "good" if I learned v'ahava together. I tried my darndest, but lacks the courage to do so before the congregation. Our rabbi of the ceremony in the sanctuary is not necessary – is simply an introduction to the meeting if you want to do. Did you know you taking the Torah from the ark symbolizes the receiving of the Torah Sinai back into our lives? Keep this in mind while making the Torah. A gift for Rabbi is a good idea. I was so absorbed in myself that I did not even think about it. : (I would not invest much in the books, but – it is very likely that many libraries full of books. L Shalom.
