Is not this lesson is found in Scripture?
I have an argument with a friend about this phrase in the Bible: "View a man what the fish are and you have a friend for life. Teach him to fish and have a friend that fishes and others show that all fishermen "I told him it a lesson about life and has nothing to do with the reality of fishing. You could do the same with hunting, if you have the right gun and ammunition. Who is right?
This is a Chinese proverb, not the Bible. It can be applied to any situation in which an ordinary person can be taught to do something for themselves same. Give a man a can of beans and he'll eat for a day. Teach beans can and you feed him for life (individual). "Give a man a book that has something to read today. Teach him to write a book and it will be too busy to read. "Give a man a Rembrandt and have something to sell in a auction tomorrow. Teach him to paint like Rembrandt and will be for life. "
